Kile Ortigo, PhD, with Case Presenter Evan Sola, PsyD, Discussant Maggie Zellner, PhD
Psychedelics have had a long history of use in medicine and religion to promote physical, mental, and spiritual health. Modern science has been re-exploring their role in healing, and attempting to map out the mechanisms of their function. We have uncovered many questions as well as answers along the way. Kile Ortigo will begin our event with a discussion of what neuroscientists have learned and how it applies to the treatment of PTSD. Maggie Zellner will then bring in the neuropsychoanalytic perspective. Evan Sola will close the day by presenting a session from the MDMA Assisted Psychotherapy Study (MAPS) at UCSF.
