Courage and Fear: Weathering the Collective Racial Storm

Dr. Fanny Brewster

Saturday Jan 29, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Our American psyche is in a collective moment of racial discomfort. What are the questions that might lead to racial healing? What must be seen and acknowledged in terms of transgenerational trauma before we can move on?

flyerWe find ourselves in a time of racial anguish, turmoil and in many ways facing not only our Collective grief but also centuries-long racialized issues that have brought us to this point in our American society. As we engage more openly in conversations regarding racial relations, we might turn to our American history that includes slavery. We might begin to consider what we have turned a blind eye to for centuries. This could be within the framework of both conscious and unconscious racial beliefs and behaviors. What are the questions that might lead to racial healing? What must be seen and acknowledged in terms of transgenerational trauma before we can move on? And to where? Our American psyche is in a collective moment of racial discomfort. Our racial conversation may give us some direction and insight into being with this moment.
