Cheryl Jacques, Psy.D.

Wednesdays 7:30-9:00pm, October 14, 2020 through April 28, 2021 (24 meetings)

flyerWe are happy to offer our annual early career case conference to the East Bay psychoanalytic community. Clinicians who have completed graduate school training and are pre-licensure or up to 5 years post licensure are invited to participate in this program led by experienced clinicians who are graduates of the Psychoanalytic Institute of Northern California. We will focus on case presentations, clinical discussion and community building. Readings may be assigned according to the interest of the participants and instructor.

The ECCC is an opportunity for participants to get to know and network with other clinicians at a similar stage of their careers. Group members will learn from their peers as well as from experienced clinicians who work with varying clinical approaches and within different psychoanalytically oriented frameworks. The continuity of working in a group over a number of weeks offers the members time to develop their capacity to think and expand their clinical abilities.

Responsive to the socio-political context in which we live, the case conference will integrate psychoanalytic thinking about key issues such as, the impact of COVID-19 on individuals, families and communities, the impact of remote therapy and technology on the therapeutic relationship, and intersectionality of identities such as, but not limited to, race, gender, sexuality, and socioeconomic status. The group is limited to 8 participants. We ask that you commit to attending all meetings (barring emergencies and unavoidable circumstances) so that an optimal work group can develop.

In person locations will begin as soon as it is feasible. Appropriate safety measures will be in place. Until that time, we are pleased to offer this program via Zoom.

Participants in the case conference automatically become Community Members at PINC. Community Membership offers multiple benefits: a regular newsletter, discounted or free admission to PINC lectures, events, Visiting Scholar programs, and belonging to a vibrant community of psychoanalytic innovators and forward thinking clinicians.

Please Note: This program tends to fill quickly. Be sure to secure your spot by registering soon. Because of the high demand for this offering, PINC will offer an additional, year-long East Bay Case Conference on Tuesday evenings once this Wednesday Case Conference is near capacity.

Continuing Education Credit is available for a total of up to 36 Credits for the course. Credit will be offered upon completion of each section.
