Northern Califronia Society for Psychoanalytic Psychology (NCSPP)
Maureen Murphy, Ph.D. spearheaded the establishment of a local chapter of Division 39 (Division of Psychoanalysis) in the American Psychological Association. The local chapter, named The Northern California Society for Psychoanalytic Psychology (NCSPP), was set up to be a completely interdisciplinary organization that would serve as an educational and membership group for psychotherapists, psychoanalysts, and anyone interested in analytic theory and practice.
Division 39
Based in Washington, DC, the American Psychological Association (APA) is a scientific and professional organization that represents psychology in the United States. With 150,000 members, APA is the largest association of psychologists worldwide.
International Psychoanalytic Association (IPA)
In 2004, PINC joined the International Psychoanalytical Association as a provisional Member Society. Candidates, graduates and members enjoy full membership benefits in IPA. While meeting IPA standards, PINC maintains its unique identity and continues to provide creative vision at the cutting edge of psychoanalysis.
